How this day fits the series

Day 1: Comprehensive Rhinoplasty

Attend this day alone or bundle it with Day 2 Extraoral Approaches and Day 3 Orthognathic Osteotomies within the same ARCAS Cadaver Intensive series.

Who it’s for

Plastic, facial plastic, ENT and maxillofacial surgeons

Ideal for surgeons performing – or preparing to perform – functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty who want structured, cadaver-based training in open structural techniques. Suitable for senior residents and fellows in accredited programs with basic rhinoplasty principles.

Group size & support

Small, high-focus group – planned for 12 surgeons

Hands-on training is organised as an intimate group (around 12 surgeons), working 2 per cadaver under close faculty supervision, with ongoing case discussion and support via the ARCAS WhatsApp group.

What you will gain

Translate cadaver-based rehearsal into real rhinoplasty capability – from functional airway correction to structural, aesthetic refinement.

is this course for you?

Rhinoplasty practice profile

  • You are a plastic, facial plastic, ENT or maxillofacial surgeon – or a senior resident/fellow – treating functional and aesthetic nasal deformity.
  • You prefer structured, step-by-step cadaver training over ad-hoc “observe and copy” learning.
  • You see post-traumatic or secondary deformities needing framework reconstruction and valve support
  • You manage primary functional and aesthetic deformities such as dorsal hump, drooping tip, tension nose or wide bony vault with airway problems.
  • You want to move beyond isolated manoeuvres and build a reproducible open structural rhinoplasty sequence for your cases.
what you will be able to do after this course

Rhinoplasty planning & execution skills

  1. Perform a structured preoperative rhinoplasty analysis and create a step-by-step surgical plan.
  2. Expose the nasal framework safely using an open approach while preserving the soft-tissue envelope and blood supply.

  3. Correct septal deformities while maintaining a stable L-strut and harvesting cartilage grafts when needed.

  4. Modify the dorsum and bony vault with controlled techniques that respect airway function and aesthetic lines.

  5. Shape and support the nasal tip using suture and graft techniques tailored to different skin and cartilage types.

  6. Apply structural concepts to improve nasal breathing while simultaneously addressing cosmetic concerns.

  7. Translate cadaver-based rehearsal into your own operating room through appropriate case selection, planning and documentation.

what you will work on in the cadaver lab

Open structural rhinoplasty sequence

  • Open approach exposure and elevation of the soft-tissue envelope with respect for vascular supply.
  • Septal correction and preservation of a stable L-strut, including cartilage harvesting.
  • Dorsal hump management and dorsal refinement, using reduction or preservation concepts.
  • Controlled lateral and medial osteotomies for narrowing and straightening the bony vault.
  • Structural tip techniques: columellar support, tip sutures and grafting for definition, projection and rotation.
  • Spreader and alar graft concepts for internal and external valve support.
  • Closure, splinting and strategies to reduce postoperative oedema and complications.

How this cadaver intensive is structured

This course is built as a complete learning journey, not just a single day in the lab.

You prepare online, clarify details in a live Q&A, then spend a full day in the fresh-frozen cadaver lab: a short recap, followed by step-by-step extraoral dissection

You arrive ready: core anatomy, indications and incision design are covered in the online library before you travel.
Lab time is used for surgery, not lectures: the day starts with a brief recap, then moves quickly into repeated full approaches and fixation.
You leave with support: post-course WhatsApp follow-up helps you bring these techniques safely into your own operating theatre.
Step 1 – On-demand online theory
Focused videos recorded by the faculty cover analysis, planning and the key stages of open functional and aesthetic rhinoplasty. You can watch and re-watch them in the weeks before the course.
Step 2 – Live pre-course Q&A
One live online session to review indications, discuss tricky cases and fine-tune your plan for the cadaver day. The session is recorded and added to your library.
Step 3 – Fresh-frozen cadaver lab, Istanbul
Short recap in the morning, then a full day of supervised dissection. Working 2 surgeons per cadaver, you rehearse the full rhinoplasty sequence until exposure, framework modification and closure feel reproducible.
Step 4 – Post-course clinical support
Dedicated ARCAS WhatsApp group plus continued access to the online videos for at least six months, so you can revisit key steps and discuss real cases once you are back in your own OR.

Most Common Questions

All three modules are built for practicing surgeons who need more than occasional workshops – they need realistic cadaver dissections, repetition of key steps and honest discussion of complications. Each day combines focused online preparation with full-day fresh-frozen lab work, so you arrive ready to operate and leave with a clear plan to translate what you learned into your own practice.

Who is this course designed for?
This intensive is for plastic, facial plastic, ENT and maxillofacial surgeons (and senior residents/fellows) who already perform rhinoplasty and want more confident, reproducible functional and aesthetic results. It is not a beginner’s course
Can I join as an observer instead of a hands-on surgeon?
Yes. Observer places are available at a reduced fee. You will be in the lab for the full day, following the dissections closely and joining all case discussions and debriefs.
How many surgeons share each cadaver station?
For the hands-on Rhinoplasty Day we work with 2 surgeons per specimen, rotating roles so that each participant can repeat key approaches, graft harvests and refinement steps.
Is accommodation or travel included in the fee?
No. Tuition covers the cadaver lab programme, instruments, disposables, coffee breaks and lunch. Participants book their own flights and hotel; most surgeons stay at hotels within a short walk of Acibadem CASE
Do you provide invitation letters for visa or study leave?
Yes. Once your seat is confirmed and payment has been received, we can issue an official confirmation / invitation letter on ARCAS letterhead for visa and study-leave purposes.
What is the cancellation or substitution policy?
Full cancellation and substitution terms are outlined in your official offer letter. In most cases, if you are unable to attend, a colleague from the same institution may take your place, provided we receive prior written notice
Can I combine this with the Extraoral and Orthognathic Days?
Yes. The Rhinoplasty Day is part of a 2–3 day cadaver pathway in Istanbul. If you plan to attend multiple days, please ask about current bundle fees when you contact the ARCAS team.
