What Is a Clinical Observership?
A clinical observership is a structured, time-bound clinical shadowing experience that enables international doctors to observe patient care in real hospital settings. Depending on the department’s workflow, it may include observation in outpatient clinics, ward rounds, operating theatres/operative workflows, multidisciplinary meetings, and teaching sessions.
At Arcas Education, observerships are designed as goal-driven pathways. We align your specialty interests and learning objectives with the most suitable department environment and clinical workflow in Istanbul—so your time is focused, relevant, and professionally useful.
These observership pathways are built for qualified doctors and internationally trained physicians who want to refine clinical direction, benchmark real-world workflows, and gain specialty-specific insight in a high-volume Istanbul ecosystem.
Most participants are postgraduate clinicians (residents, specialists, fellows, and surgeons). However, if your background is different, you can still apply—we assess fit based on your documents, goals, and the host department’s availability and policies.
